Detecting and removing hydrogen gas from the melt can improve aluminum quality. Hydrogen is an impurity, and the only gas soluble in molten aluminum, that can create porosity in castings
At AFW, metal treatment includes flux injection and rotary degassing.
Our flux injection machine is used for treatment of molten aluminum—injecting nitrogen gas along with flux to help in the cleaning, drossing, degassing and removal of alkaline metal.
In the rotary degassing process, purge gas is introduced to the melt in order to improve mixing capability and to increase the collection of hydrogen atoms present.
